Associate News Director of Community Relations Five years in Lansing area radio--WITL, WKAR and News, Sports, and Public Affairs Director of the Michigan State Radio Network at Michigan State University. Host of "IN Focus" a cable news show taped at Lansing Community College. A discussion of public policy issues with state lawmakers, and other state leaders along with a Democratic and a Republican co-host. Host for several years. Moderator Political Debates for local and state offices.
Community Activities: Current Boards: Henry Ford Jackson Hospital Foundation Board--since it was formed in 2009 Michigan Theatre of Jackson Board and Executive Committee for several years Good Shepherd Catholic Radio Board since its beginning and planning stages 100 Women Who Care---Women in the Community who meet four times a year and donate money to deserving nonprofits and causes in the Jackson area. A member since the group was created. Chair of The Jackson Grand Slam for Kids for more than ten years. Raise 12-15 Thousand dollars every year to take 200 at risk young people and their mentors to a Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park in Detroit. Transportation is provided along with food vouchers, fun money, ballpark activities and a giveaway item, organized by United Way of Jackson County. The young people are from groups like Big Brothers Big Sister, Lily Missions, Partnership Park etc. Chair of the Jackson Basketball Jam for Kids with the Detroit Pistons a few years prior to switching to the Tigers, Former Boards: Michigan Education Trust--Appointed by Governor John Engler Michigan Hospital Finance Authority Board--Appointed by Governor John Engler Wendy's Charity Classic for Michigan Adoption held at the Jackson Country Club--LPGA event for several years working with Family Service and Children's Aid Michigan Dyslexia Institute Board in Lansing Opened the Michigan Dyslexia Institute Center in Jackson in 2009 now called the Reading Writing Connection along with two Jackson Dyslexia teachers Nancy Naylor and Bette Watkins to teach Children and adults with dyslexia. United Way of Jackson Board and United Way Campaign Chair for two years Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jackson County Board and fundraisers Co-Chair of Bowl for Kids Sake for several years with Jackson County Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka American Cancer Society--worked on Relay for Life fundraisers American Red Cross---worked on fundraisers Purple Rose Theatre---Trustee Jeff Daniels Comedy Golf Jam and Movie Premiere fundraisers Easter Seals of Michigan State Board Hosted more than 25 telethons on TV for Easter Seals, Childrens Miracle Network and Arthritis Foundation Jackson Distinguished Citizen of the year---2007 named by Jackson Citizen Patriot State of Michigan Special Tribute from all Jackson State Lawmakers and Governor Jennifer Granholm State of Michigan Senate Concurrent Resolution offered by Senator Stabenow and others recognizing my work for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Lansing--March 1991
